Variable Speed Switch

The Variable Speed Switch allows you to control the amount of
air flow from the Duct Fan. The fans will run at the rated MAX
CFM's and the switch allows you to turn the rate down if you are
getting to much air flow. The Variable Speed Switch is the only
switch recommended for use with the Duct Fans. These are
single speed motors so don't make the mistake of purchasing a
ceiling fan switch to operate this fan.

Instructions for installing Variable Speed Switch

*** Please note- It is highly recommended to have a professional
electrician install all electrical components.***

1. Application
a.) Motor Type-Shaded Pole,P.S.C., and universal.
b.) Required Load- Fans, Blowers and Speed dependent loads.

2. Wiring
WARNING!- Power must be turned off before wiring. Connect speed control
in series with motor and line voltage-never connect control across line.

3. Mounting
a.) Use 2" deep standard Gem Box.
b.) Secure control with outer bracket tabs.

4. Minimal Speed Adjustment
This control was designed to operate on motors used in diversified
applications. A minimum speed adjustment is provided to allow independent
control of the minimum speed setting.

a.) Motor must be in actual operating conditions to achieve proper speed
adjustment.
The motor will not slow down unless proper load is applied.
b.) Turn main control knob clockwise to lowest speed position.
c,) Locate and adjust min. speed setting on side of unit with screwdriver
(rotate
clockwise to decrease min speed: counter clockwise to increase min.
speed).
d.) Motor will now operate from this preset min. speed to full speed.

5. Final Mounting
a.) Remove knob and install front plate (remove plastic on face of dial plate).
b.) Push on knob so pointer is in off position.
